The Not So Hellacious Succubus

For an evil minion of hell Jesse "Jezebel" x-succubus is anything but evil. Other than the fact that she enjoys sex and being the center of attention of her adoring fans at the strip club she ends up working at that's about as "evil" as she gets.
The story flashes back and forth between present day x-succubus on the run story and past life as a succubus that got her into this predicament. While the story is entertaining and different the flashback thing every other chapter was getting kind of annoying. Just tell us what happened in her past to lead up to this and then we can get along with the current story.
However that said, Jezebel does have a good time getting herself into trouble and having to leave her great job as a succubus, because under the new regime and the requisite re-organization under the new management she now hates her new job which she also has no talent for. It's never really explained why the queen has such a grudge against her, but not really all that important to the story. Her solution, leave. Of course new managament does not really take that solution well and sends all sorts of evil bounty hunters after her. Next step in Jezebel's escape plan, get a witch to change her into a human so evil types can't track her. The only problem with this is as a human she really can't use her "evil" powers or evil will know where she is again. Do you know how juch succubusi depend on their powers to do everything? So starts the adventure of figuring out how to survive as a human, get a job (strip club of course) and earn money, find a place to live, shopping for a wardrobe, loving this eating thing, etc. etc. Then there's the distraction of meeting a great looking guy thing who's interested in her, but not in the normal succubus way it seems. That just adds to her new human emotional turmoil while she trys to stay alive and not get caught by the big evil and dragged back to the big evil, the Pit with the lae of fire and all.
It's definitely a different twist on a story and a fun read.

Jackie Kessler's sizzling debut does not disappoint! In HELL'S BELLES, we meet Jesse, a former succubus on the run from Hell. Only Hell isn't finished with her just yet. Kessler's voice is addictive, and Jesse's inner thoughts range from humorous observations on the way humans live to naughty, wanton views. Brilliant!

As good and fun a book as I've ever read

Every once in a while you come across an author with a voice so unique and so engaging that she captures your heart as well as your imagination. This is not the kind of book I generally turn to, but on reading it, I found myself immediately hungry for its inevitable sequel. Hells Belles is original, captivating, funny, suspenseful and even thought provoking - a difficult combination to fit into a single romantic fantasy.
Jezebel is the perfect anti-hero and the story, as told first person from her point of view, makes no bones about the priorities in the "life" of this demoness on the run from Hell. Her adventures, sometimes seedy, sometimes romantic, sometimes exciting, bring us into a netherworld within a netherworld, populated by characters both tawdry and oddly noble.
Kessler's deft touch and biting humor give a spicy and thoroughly entertaining edge to Jezebel's every move and utterance. We root for her, love her, and at the same time she shocks us. It's one thing to make a natural villianess into a unlikely heroine. It's another thing to make us like her. But to be true to her demonic nature AND make us like her - that takes a bit of doing.
Kessler does it, and then some.
This is an absolutely wonderful read!

Jezebel is a demon of Lust and she loves her job. After all, she gets to have awesome sex with her assignments before she sucks out their souls and takes them down to Hell. But when there is a sudden change in the rules of Hell, Jezebel decides that running away is the only option, because the Announcement made by King Lucifer is just too much to bear. As she runs to hide among the population on Earth, she finds herself dancing in high heels for cash. Being a stripper isn't so bad, since she found herself employed at Belles and seems to be adjusting to the "human" thing quite well - to the point that she seems to have captured the attention of hunky Paul Hamilton. However, with the denizens of Hell after her to take her back, Jezebel finds herself needing to survive the attentions of her slimy boss, a nasty mugging, and the deadly attentions of the Queen of the Succubae.
Will Jezebel survive to claim Paul as her own? Or will she be dragged, kicking and screaming, back into the depths of Hell?
Hell's Belles is an amazing book will have you laughing out loud at Jezebel's snappy one-liners and her unique world view. Hell's Belles will floor you as it keeps you glued to your seat and turning the pages way past your bedtime! Jackie Kessler explodes into the scene of paranormal romance with this debut novel, which will leave you eagerly waiting for the next installment of the Hell on Earth series and making you a die-hard fan of this universe. Jezebel is a charming and intriguing character who will capture your attention from the first page with her quirky outlook and her "warped" view of humanity and her place in it. It's a lot of fun watching Jezebel dance on the edge of a blade as she struggles to "blend" within humanity while trying to evade Hell's bounty hunters. Paul is a perfect hero, complete with a tortured past, who creates a perfect foil for Jezebel's antics. I absolutely loved, loved, loved Hell's Belles and I can't wait to get my hands on the next book in the series! Hell's Belles is an extraordinary book that will pull you into the story from the get-go and leave you wishing for more of Jezebel and Paul! Get yourself Hell's Belles as it's a fun romp into the life of a succubus and her adventure as a human full of humor and wit!

What do you do when you don't like your job, which happens to be being a succubus? Become a stripper of course! This book took a little bit to get into, but it was well worth it. Jezebel totally rocks. She's jaded (not in a bad way), sexy and smart. You just can't help but root her on. Great sex scenes, snappy dialog, and a hero you just want to eat with a spoon. I'd recommend this book to anyone and everyone (as long as they're over 18!)!
